Class Descriptions

Groove

A high energy, low-impact dance class that will have you moving and grooving to a fusion of dance styles, giving you a total body workout while having a blast! Suitable for all levels. It’s a great workout to improve your cardiovascular fitness, balance, coordination and mobility. Suitable for all!

Strong / Circuit Breaker

A mid-high intensity functional circuit designed to improve your overall strength, functional capacity, muscle mass and bone mineral density. This total body circuit has a strong focus on the progression and technique of the integral push, pull, squat and hinge movement patterns. 

Sweat

A mid-high intensity functional circuit designed to improve your cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and get your blood pumping. You will train to build your aerobic capacity through total-body cardio movements while becoming faster, stronger and leaner.

Yoga

A balanced combination of yoga styles to help strengthen and lengthen muscles, improve body alignment, posture and awareness. Yoga practices can help relieve the effects of chronic stress and the challenges of contemporary life, bringing the mind and body to a focused, relaxed state and harmony into your life. Suitable for all.

Pilates

A mat-based workout designed to develop core muscle strength and improve posture, flexibility and balance. Enhances well-being through relaxation and stress relief. Suitable for all.

Pilates Reformer

With a maximum of 3 participants, these classes are ideal for those wanting to have the benefit of a semi private class. Pilates reformers provide a full body workout using spring loaded resistance, which can be adjusted for all levels of ability. Benefits include toning, flexibility, better posture, efficient movement, body/mind connection, not to mention flat abs!
NB: Additional fees and bookings apply. Private health rebates available. See staff for details.

BoxFit

A cardio workout that incorporates boxing technique and combinations to keep you fighting fit! Box Fit is excellent for improving cardiovascular fitness, co-ordination and cognitive training, bone health and wonderful form of stress relief. Suitable for all levels.

Class Descriptions

Cardio Step

A low impact step-based workout incorporating a variety of modalities and techniques to improve cardiovascular fitness. A great workout that will leave you feeling energized and upbeat!

Circuit & Circuit XPress

Circuit training improves whole body strength and endurance through alternating active exercise stations with rest periods. A time-efficient, functional, fat burning workout that will both challenge and reward!
NB: Circuit XPress is a high intensity short duration (30 min) class. A warm-up is recommended prior to commencing this class.

Groove

A cardio workout with a difference! Incorporating a fusion of dance styles with great music – the emphasis is as much on having fun as on breaking a sweat! Provides a great all-round workout suitable for all.

Move & Tone

A mix of cardio and strength training incorporating a light paced cardio component with a variety of different moves to raise the heart rate, followed by a body shaping and stretch component. Effective to tone, strengthen and condition the muscles. Hand weights may be used for the toning part of this class.

Pilates

A mat-based workout designed to develop core muscle strength and improve posture, flexibility and balance. Enhances well-being through relaxation and stress relief. Suitable for all.

Tai Chi

Involves a series of uninterrupted, smooth, relaxed, flowing movements enhancing mind-body health. Exercises generate and circulate vital energy, or Chi, around the body by following specific principles of movement, posture and breathing, bringing the body into a state of harmony and balance. Tai Chi enhances circulation and vitality, while improving muscle tension, flexibility, coordination and balance.

Yoga

A balanced combination of yoga styles to help strengthen and lengthen muscles, improve body alignment, posture and awareness. Yoga practices can help relieve the effects of chronic stress and the challenges of contemporary life, bringing the mind and body to a focused, relaxed state and harmony into your life. Suitable for all.

Back Basics

A pre-cursor to Pilates involving a series of mat-based stretching and strengthening exercises to develop core muscle strength, improve posture, flexibility, balance and joint mobility. Ideal for those suffering from chronic back and joint pain, arthritis, poor flexibility and balance, and anyone interested in improving their core strength and back health.

Balance

This class is focused on those who have experienced or are at risk of a fall. Exercises are structured to improve functional movement strength, enhance balance and coordination, and increase overall body awareness. An improved functional capacity will lead to an increase in confidence and self-esteem, and allow you to live life to the fullest.

Circuit

A low intensity circuit-style class suitable for those new to group exercise. A low intensity cardio warm-up is followed by a combination of resistance, balance, coordination and cardio exercises aimed at improving exercise capacity and functional movement for daily living. Suitable for those suffering from various chronic cardiac and metabolic health conditions including Type 2 diabetes, etc.

Breathe

Designed to improve breathing patterns while improving general fitness and strength for those suffering from various chronic respiratory conditions including COPD (emphysema / bronchitis), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, sleep apnea, bronchiectasis and lung cancer. During the class blood oxygen level, blood pressure, heart rate and breathing are assessed to ensure that exercises are both safe and effective.

Club Active Facilities & Services

We offer a range of membership options to suit your lifestyle, including fixed-term memberships and direct debit arrangements. When you join Club Active, our ‘get started’ sessions for each new member will include two one-on-one appointments with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), and an initial health and movement assessment. The second appointment will take you through your personalised exercise program. Our numerous facilities and services include access to exercise physiologists, our allied health clinic, dietitians and physiotherapists. A helpful membership team is available to assist you with understanding the services we offer and how they are covered by Chronic Diseases Management plans from a GP referral on Medicare, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), WorkCover, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and private health insurance.
