MEDICAL FITNESS PROGRAM

Designed to be individually tailored for participants currently managing a range of health conditions, such as Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, Joint Pain/Replacement, Cancer, Diabetes, Bariatric Surgery, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Conditions. This program is also perfect for those without a health condition just looking to transition to a more active lifestyle with expert guidance.

Free Club Membership

Enjoy 6 weeks of unlimited over 50s Club Membership and Group Classes whilst you complete your program.

PROGRAMS

General Health OR New Members

Our Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored program facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. Regardless of your condition, exercise experience or functional capacity, this program is designed to support you to transition to an active, healthy lifestyle with clinical guidance, all within a safe and non-intimidating environment.

 

This program is a perfect way to begin with us at Club Active to get tailored advice and exercise programming, as well as regular check-ups to ensure results and confidence!

Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric Surgery Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored program facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to support both pre and post-bariatric surgical intervention, whilst helping you to improve weight management and maintain daily function.

 

Research shows maintaining and building muscle mass is important for metabolic health as it helps burn energy whilst at rest. Based on this, our allied health team aims to work with you to improve your muscle mass and physical fitness with safe and appropriate exercises, in conjunction with diet advice, to ensure you feel confident to regain control of your metabolic health.

Cardiovascular

Cardiovascular Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week Happy Heart program facilitated by Club Active Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to reintroduce those who have experienced a cardiac event back into exercise safely and to improve overall cardiovascular health.

 

This program is suitable for anyone who has suffered a cardiac event, including those with cardiac stents, recovery from bypass surgery, rhythm issues, hypertension or vascular disease. Our allied health team aims to provide you with an understanding of your exercise tolerance to improve and/or better manage your existing condition with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice to ensure you feel confident to Change The Way You Age.

Cancer

Cancer Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored program facilitated by Club Active Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to help those living with or recovering from cancer; to assist with the management of symptoms/treatment side effects and to get you back into exercise safely.

 

If you are currently undergoing treatment for cancer, or experiencing remission; this program is suitable for you. Exercise plays an important role in reducing the severity of treatment-related side effects, whilst assisting you to maintain function during and after treatment. Based on this, our allied health team aims to work with you to better manage your existing condition with safe and appropriate exercises, in conjunction with diet advice, to aid overall survival and improve your quality of life.  

Diabetes

Diabetes Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored program facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to improve blood glucose management, insulin sensitivity, and overall management of diabetes for at-risk individuals with tailored lifestyle advice.

 

If you are at risk of developing, or have been diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome or Diabetes; this program is suitable for you. Research shows strength training plays a crucial role in blood glucose management by maintaining/improving your muscle mass. Based on this, our allied health team aims to work with you to better manage your existing condition with safe and appropriate exercises, in conjunction with diet advice, to ensure you feel confident to regain control of your metabolic health and Change The Way You Age.

Lower Back Pain

Lower Back Pain Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored health plan facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to assist those suffering with lower back pain and discomfort by improving strength, mobility and overall functioning.

 

This program is suitable for anyone suffering with lower back pain. Building lower back strength not only improves your muscle mass making it easier for you to move with ease, it also plays a major role in your longevity. Based on this, our allied health team aims to improve your strength, mobility and pain management with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice, so you can continue to complete daily activities and maintain your quality of life.  

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored health plan facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program is designed to help those suffering from active or nonactive Multiple Sclerosis with the aim to slow the progression of the disease and maintain/improve quality of life.

 

If you have a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis or have experienced a single episode and are at risk of relapse, this program is suitable for you. This program is designed to help build strength, improve mobility and help reduce pain, fatigue and spasticity so you can maintain your quality of life. Our allied health team will help you achieve this with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice to give you the confidence to Change The Way You Age.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored program facilitated by Club Active Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians, designed for those preparing for, recovering from, or aiming to avoid joint replacement surgery. This program aims to reduce pain, improve mobility and function, and aid pre/post-rehabilitation from Hip/Knee surgery.

 

If you have a current diagnosis of Osteoarthritis, struggle with pain and/or reduced mobility, or if you are in pre/post rehabilitation from Hip/Knee surgery; this program is suitable for you. Our allied health team aims to improve and/or better manage your existing condition with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice to ensure you feel confident to Change The Way You Age.

 

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week Build Better Bones program facilitated by Club Active Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to prevent osteoporotic fracture by improving bone strength and density in at-risk individuals.

 

If you have a current diagnosis of Osteopenia or Osteoporosis, or if you struggle with reduced bone strength; this program is suitable for you. Our allied health team aims to get you started on your journey to improve and/or better manage your existing condition with personalised exercise and diet advice to ensure you feel confident to Change The Way You Age.

Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson’s Disease Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored health plan facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians, designed to improve daily functioning. This program aims to assist those with a Parkinson’s diagnosis from Stages 1 to 4 on the Hoehn and Yahr scale.

 

If you have a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease between Stages 1 to 4, this program is suitable for you. This program is designed to improve postural instability, build strength, improve balance, and to help reduce the onset of further autonomic dysfunction; with the aim of maintaining your quality of life. Our allied health team will help you achieve this with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice to give you the confidence to Change The Way You Age.

Pulmonary

Pulmonary Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored program facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to assist those suffering with pulmonary conditions, including long-covid, COPD and PAD, to improve overall respiratory function.

 

If your daily activities are impacted by your quality of breath, and/or you have a current diagnosis of COPD, PAD or other lung-related condition; this program is suitable for you. Our allied health team aims to provide you with an understanding of your exercise tolerance to better manage your existing condition with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice to ensure you feel confident to Change The Way You Age.

Stroke

Stroke Medical Fitness Program is an evidence-based 6-week tailored health plan facilitated by Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians. This program aims to assist those who have suffered a stroke or those who are at risk of a cerebrovascular accident by improving overall strength and cardiovascular health.

 

If you have suffered a stroke, and/or have existing stroke risk factors, and have medical clearance to exercise, this program is suitable for you. Our allied health team aims to improve your strength and cardiovascular health with safe and appropriate exercise and diet advice. You’ll improve your functional mobility, balance, and stamina with the hopes of reducing the likelihood of a secondary event. The goal of this program is to ensure you are able to complete your daily activities and maintain your quality of life.

How do I get started?

At Club Active, we encourage everyone to start with a Free Club Tour to meet the team first and figure out what’s best for you. To get started, simply fill out the enquiry form above, and one of our Club Experience Consultants will be in touch to find the best time for you to come in and see what Club Active is about!

Is the Mecial Fitness Program only for those with a health condition?

Our Medical Fitness Programs are designed to be the perfect introduction to Club Active with expert guidance and tailored programing to you and your needs. Regardless of your condition, limitation or experience, Club Active is here to support you and start changing the way you age.

How much does the program cost?

The only price you pay for your Medical Fitness Program is the price of your consultations with our Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians throughout. For this program exclusively, consults are half price at $75 each! (Total of $525 for all 7 consults, or $375 as clubs that do 5 consults). In addition, Allied Health Rebates via Medicare and Private Health Offsets may be available. Your Club Membership, Group Fitness Classes, and Expert Guidance are all included for the full 6 weeks!

I have no prior gym experience, is this program appropriate for me?

Absolutely! Our Medical Fitness Programs are designed to be the perfect introduction to a gym environment and what we do here at Club Active, all within a safe, fun and non-intimidating environment. Most of our members had no prior experience! That’s why we always start off with a Free Club Tour to make sure it’s the right fit for you.
